Hello again!

Spring has sprung in the South African Bushveldt!  This old wild fig tree where I wait for the bus in the mornings turned from this....

into this....

of course it happened leaf by leaf,
but that is part of nature's magic.

I know I have been absent from blogging for quite a while and I have no valid reasons, no valid excuses!  I have simply been lazy.  If any of you had scrapped me from your blog lists, I would not blame you, and for those who didn't:  I admire your patience.  It has been weeks since my last blog and I apologise.

My daughter has convinced me to read the Twilight series and I guess that is part of the reason why I have not been visiting you all regularly.  I am a bit of a book addict but I am also very much a realist and stories about vampires and werewolves do not attract me at all, yet once I gave in to the pressure from her (hinting and nagging and begging) and read the first one, I could not stop.  What an amazing imagination Stephenie Meyer has, not to mention her obvious talent for writing easy-to-read stories.  She has certainly changed my perception of both vampires and werewolfes.... eh, sorry... shape-shifters (for the Jacob fans)... and I believe she has lifted Harry Potter from his little throne (Thank goodness!)   I can now quite understand the Twilight craze that is sweeping the world.  So if any of you has not read the books, give it a try.

So yes, I am hoping that with Bella, Edward and Jacob now safely behind me, I will be blogging more regularly again.   Oops... I forgot... that is if my laptop stops playing up, but I think it will take a hard drive format and re-installing all software before that will happen.  So please people, hold thumbs that I do not kill it in the process...

Welcome back!
I used to be a "book worm" till my late twenties. Then, reality took over. Reality, as we all know, is stranger and stronger than fiction.

As for your " I have simply been lazy" - that's all right. I sometimes introduce myself with "My middle name is Lazy".

Your mighty Fig tree is quite impressive.

I wondered what had happened to you, but realize that life happens. Glad all is OK and you've just had your nose stuck in a book. Which I admit to not having read for pleasure in a LONG time.

Enjoy spring in the veld.

Hey...! I'm glad you're back. Enjoy your spring, you lucky thing. I am sitting here watching the leaves fall from the trees. You have stolen our sun. :-) Enjoy!

Nice to see a post. It is tough to keep up. My wife has been working a new year's resolution to blog each day for a year. She is on day 306!

Best wishes from all of us in Boston!
